Aaron Judge and Ben Rice are putting together something special in the Bronx.
The Yankees duo just joined some pretty exclusive company. Both players have reached 12 home runs through 35 team games, with Rice getting there on Sunday’s blast.
That hasn’t happened since 1995, according to MLB Network’s Sarah Langs.
The last teammates to pull this off? Manny Ramirez and Paul Sorrento with the Cleveland Indians. Yeah, Sorrento probably wasn’t your first guess.
Before that, you’re looking at some serious baseball royalty. The 1994 Rockies had Ellis Burks and Andres Galarraga doing it in Colorado’s thin air. Go back to 1959 and it’s Eddie Mathews and Hank Aaron with Milwaukee.
The first time this ever happened? The 1956 Yankees with Mickey Mantle and Yogi Berra.
So Judge and Rice are just the fifth pair of teammates to reach 12 homers through 35 games. That’s it.

Nobody’s surprised by what Judge brings to the table. He’s been doing this for years.
Rice is the revelation here. The Yankees probably had high hopes when they called him up, but this level of production? Even they have to be thrilled with how it’s playing out.
What makes this different is the timing. Both guys are locked in at the same time, and that’s what creates these historic moments.
Rice has shown he belongs in this lineup. Judge continues to be Judge. Together, they’re rewriting the record books in pinstripes.
