Nolan Arenado hit his 350th career home run Thursday night, joining some pretty exclusive company in the process. The St. Louis Cardinals third baseman clubbed the milestone shot in the second game of their doubleheader against Cincinnati, helping the Cards pull out an 8-6 win in ten innings.

What makes this milestone special? Arenado becomes just the seventh player in baseball history with 350+ home runs and 10+ Gold Gloves.

That’s some serious company he’s keeping. The list includes Willie Mays, Al Kaline, Johnny Bench, Mike Schmidt, Ken Griffey Jr., and Andruw Jones – basically a who’s who of players who could rake and field at an elite level.

Among active players, the 34-year-old Arenado sits sixth in career home runs. Giancarlo Stanton leads the way with 429, followed by Mike Trout at 389 (just 11 shy of 400). The other guys ahead of Arenado are Paul Goldschmidt, Manny Machado, and Freddie Freeman.

Right behind him? Bryce Harper entered Tuesday with 345, while Aaron Judge sits nine homers away from 350.

In terms of baseball’s all-time home run list, Arenado now sits tied for 102nd with Chili Davis, who finished his career with exactly 350. Next up is Dick Allen at 351.

It’s been quite a journey for Arenado since the Cardinals acquired him from Colorado on February 1, 2021. His first home run in a Cardinals uniform came on March 29 that same season. The eight-time All-Star has been everything St. Louis hoped for when they made that trade – consistent power at the plate and Gold Glove defense at the hot corner.

The Cardinals head home now to host the Cincinnati Reds over the weekend before starting a crucial four-game series against the first-place Chicago Cubs next week. At this stage of his career, every milestone feels a bit more special for Arenado, and 350 home runs is definitely worth celebrating.
