It’s only fair to allow a couple guesses before we get to the answer.
How much do you think a chicken sandwich costs at MLB’s Winter Meetings?
The entire baseball world has descended on what’s essentially a baseball convention in Orlando. If you don’t have time to leave the premises, you’re stuck eating what’s available.
It’s a situation that’s practically designed for high prices.
But you’re not going to believe this number. Take a guess first.
The answer: $31.
That’s what Evan Grant of the Dallas Morning News reported on Tuesday:
No wonder the Rangers aren’t spending. A chicken sandwich goes for $31 at the Winter Meetings.
Grant already found his punchline there. There are plenty of other joke opportunities for fans of teams that aren’t exactly known for opening their wallets.
The A’s would probably trade that sandwich with a third of it still uneaten and only get an egg in return.
Hopefully it’s at least a good chicken sandwich. But there’s no way it’s worth that much.
