Yankees Host Twins in Spring Training Rematch
The Yankees return to action Thursday against the Twins after a day off, looking to even the spring training series after Minnesota took the first matchup 5-4.
New York will have home-field advantage this time around at George M. Steinbrenner Field in Tampa. Both teams conduct their spring training in Florida, just at different facilities.
The Yankees enter 2025 with their typical championship-or-bust mentality following a busy offseason. Despite Juan Soto’s departure, they’ve added plenty of talent to strengthen their roster. But the path won’t be easy – the AL East got even stronger with the Orioles, Red Sox, Blue Jays and Rays all posing legitimate threats.
The AL Central should be just as competitive as last year. The Tigers, Twins, Royals and Guardians all have postseason potential. The White Sox, however, will likely find themselves looking up at everyone else again.
