The Dodgers and their array of megastars are officially going global.
The defending World Series champions will open the 2025 MLB season against the Cubs in the Tokyo Series on March 18. But first, they’ll warm up with an exhibition game against Nippon Professional Baseball’s Yomiuri Giants in Tokyo on Saturday morning.

Saturday’s exhibition kicks off what should be an electric homecoming for the Dodgers’ trio of Japanese stars: Shohei Ohtani, Yoshinobu Yamamoto and Roki Sasaki. Ohtani, the two-way phenom and reigning NL MVP, has reached icon status in Japan. Yamamoto and Sasaki, two of the most talented pitchers in the world, aren’t far behind in popularity.
The Tokyo Dome’s 55,000 seats will almost certainly be packed with fans eager to see these stars represent Los Angeles on Japanese soil.
