Eugenio Suarez just etched his name in baseball history with a performance that defies belief.
The Diamondbacks’ slugger crushed four home runs in four consecutive at-bats against the Dodgers on Saturday night. His fourth homer, a towering shot to left field, tied the game 7-7 in the bottom of the ninth inning.

Suarez becomes just the 19th player in MLB history to hit four homers in a single game. What makes his feat even more remarkable is that he did it in consecutive plate appearances – no walks, no outs, just four swings, four homers.
The last player to accomplish this rare feat? Another Diamondback – J.D. Martinez, who did it on September 4, 2017 against the Dodgers.
Suarez entered the game with six home runs on the season. He’s now the MLB leader with 10.
The craziest part? Arizona still lost 8-7 in extra innings. The D-backs managed just seven total hits – Suarez’s four bombs and three singles from the rest of the lineup. That’s baseball for you.
Elite Company
Suarez joins a select group of sluggers who’ve hit four homers in a game since 2000:
- Mike Cameron (2002)
- Shawn Green (2002)
- Carlos Delgado (2003)
- Josh Hamilton (2012)
- Scooter Gennett (2017)
- J.D. Martinez (2017)
- Eugenio Suarez (2025)
This wasn’t Suarez’s first multi-homer rodeo. The 33-year-old Venezuelan already had two three-homer games in his career, but he took it a step further tonight.
What makes this even more improbable is that Suarez had been ice cold coming into the game, hitting just .136 in his previous 75 plate appearances. Baseball’s a funny game like that – one night can change everything.
Suarez now has 286 career home runs, but none will be more memorable than the four he hit tonight. It’s the kind of performance that reminds us why we love this game – you truly never know what you might witness when you tune in.
