Within minutes of each other, the **Arizona Diamondbacks** and **New York Yankees** both pulled off dramatic comeback wins thanks to players sharing the same name.
D-backs outfielder **Ryan McMahon** crushed a walk-off two-run homer to beat the Dodgers 4-3 in the bottom of the ninth. Just minutes earlier on the East Coast, Yankees third baseman **Ryan McMahon** walked it off with a sacrifice fly against the Braves for a 3-2 win in 10 innings.
It’s one of those baseball coincidences you don’t see very often.

The Dodgers looked like they had this one wrapped up heading into the ninth inning. That’s when Arizona’s McMahon stepped up against closer **Edwin Díaz** and absolutely demolished a pitch to left-center field.

The homer capped off what’s been a rough stretch for Los Angeles. They’ve now dropped **seven straight games** and eight of their last 10. That’s concerning for a team that’s supposed to be leading the NL West.

Yankees Complete Comeback in Extra Innings
The Yankees’ situation looked even more dire. They’d been shut out through eight innings while watching Atlanta take a 2-0 lead on home runs in the eighth and ninth.
That’s when things got interesting in the bottom of the ninth. An error on **George Lombard Jr.’s** infield hit opened the door, and the Yankees didn’t waste it. **Austin Wells** came through with an RBI double, then **Ben Rice** tied it up with an RBI single off the right-field wall.
After **David Bednar** worked a clean top of the 10th, McMahon got his chance to be the hero. The third baseman lifted a sacrifice fly to right field, bringing **Luis García Jr.** home and completing New York’s comeback.
