Marcell Ozuna blasted a walk-off home run in the 11th inning to give the Braves a 4-2 victory over the Phillies in a rain-delayed marathon that ended at 12:54 a.m. Friday at Truist Park.
The win secured Atlanta’s first series victory of the season, improving their record to 3-9 while dealing a blow to their NL East rivals.

What started as a normal divisional matchup turned into a five-hour, 38-minute endurance test thanks to a lengthy rain delay. First pitch went off as scheduled at 7:15 p.m. despite ominous weather forecasts, but the skies opened up after six innings with the score tied 1-1.
Play was halted around 8:45 p.m., leading to a nearly three-hour delay. Many fans headed home, but those who stayed were rewarded with discounted concessions — the team offered 40% off food and drinks by 10:00 p.m. as the delay dragged on.

The game finally resumed around 11:30 p.m. with the top of the seventh inning. The 1-1 deadlock continued into extras, where the Phillies grabbed a 2-1 lead in the top of the 11th.
Atlanta wasn’t done. Austin Riley doubled to bring home Ozzie Albies, tying the game at 2-2. That set the stage for Ozuna, who delivered the knockout blow with his game-ending homer.
The late finish creates a brutal turnaround for both clubs, who face road games Friday night. The Braves head to Tampa Bay for a 7:05 p.m. start, while the Phillies travel to St. Louis for an 8:15 p.m. first pitch.
It’s not ideal for either team, but at least Atlanta can ride the momentum of their dramatic win. The Phillies, meanwhile, will be looking to shake off both fatigue and disappointment when they arrive in St. Louis.
