Angels Mike Trout Nearing Two Major MLB Career Milestones

**Mike Trout** is closing in on two major career milestones as the Angels return from the All-Star break.

The three-time MVP sits at **395 career home runs** and **995 RBI** heading into the second half. He’s just five homers away from joining the exclusive 400-home run club and five RBI from reaching 1,000.

Only **58 players** in MLB history have hit 400 homers, while **307** have driven in 1,000 runs. Trout’s about to become the 59th member of the more exclusive group.

The timing works out perfectly. The Angels start their post-break schedule in Philadelphia, not far from where Trout grew up in New Jersey. Home crowds should be pulling for the Millville native.

At his current pace – **17 homers** this season while hitting .238/.365/.471 – it’ll probably take just a few weeks to reach both marks.

Some interesting names sit right in front of Trout on the all-time home run list. **Joe Carter** finished with 396, **Dale Murphy** with 398, and both **Al Kaline** and **Andres Galarraga** reached exactly 399.

Injuries have clearly limited what could’ve been an even more incredible career. But Trout’s still putting together Hall of Fame numbers when he’s on the field.

These milestones serve as a nice reminder of just how good he’s been, even as he’s dealt with more durability issues in recent years. The Angels outfielder might not be the same player who dominated the early 2010s, but he’s still capable of those signature moments.

Reaching 400 and 1,000 will put Trout in some pretty exclusive company – exactly where he belongs.
